Brand Shoot Case Study
Roux and Lucia is one of those projects that just feels special. It’s unfolding in phases—starting with their bakery in early 2025, with the market and café to follow in the spring. The bakery has this incredible old-world charm, a European feel that was a dream to capture. But beyond that, the space itself is a piece of Dubuque’s history, full of memories for the community. Roux and her team have poured so much heart into restoring it to its original glory, and it was an absolute joy to document their journey.

The Planning Process:
I visited Roux and Lucia Bakery and met with Roux and her team to discuss the vision for the project. We created a shared Pinterest board, which helped me get a clear sense of their aesthetic and goals. Her staff also compiled a list of key shots they wanted—super helpful, though not required. Using all of this, I crafted a detailed shoot guide to ensure our session was well-planned and intentional.
These photos have been used across their website and socials, helping them attract their first customers and create an inviting, professional online presence. They’ve truly elevated their brand with visuals that reflect the unique character of their space and offerings.
